Ryoku was designed and built following a design brief limiting the amount of wood and integrating a form of plastic for the backrest.
The result is a light-weight, minimal wooden construction with a small twist: Ryoku's backrest is held together by the force of a casted rubber piece that slots on the top and is interchangeable.
Therefore Ryoku becomes a platform for different backrest modules, that offer different functions, levels of comfort and aesthetics.
